Work in this series speaks of diverse older layers apparent beneath its surface, and a place of ancient watercourses. The concept of palimpsest, in this context relates to the way this country bears visible traces. There is a sense of space and sparseness. The essence of a location, the spirituality of an ancient presence in country and environmental issues are at the core of my explorations of landscape.
