My studio practice is based on resonance and specifics of place. Travel in, through and above the landscape informs my work. I make direct reference to specific locations and stories, but the expression is essentially abstract.
My inspiration comes from experience with my immediate environment on one hand, and culture on the other. It is grounded in regional topography and reflects the way that all spaces and places hold stories I am particularly influenced by farms stricken by the current drought. Mine is a response to harsh realities.
A privileged perspective of the cockpit of a Piper Cherokee, flying low, provided me with a unique insight into the effects of drought in 2007.
