In the natural world, the edge of a community is more diverse than its centre. The edge referred to, in The Edge Contemporary Art Collective, is the place or framework in which arts practitioners from diverse backgrounds meet to work together, to provide context and support for each other, to strengthen and sustain their work at a professional contemporary level.

The Edge Contemporary Art Collective is a not-for-profit group formed by Susan Fell Mclean,  Peter Ward and Sari Wawn, in the course of their collaboration on “Palimpsests of Gooram Gooram Gong” in 2006.

The Edge Contemporary Art Collective aims to

• encourage collaboration as a creative
..process

• push experimentation and share skills

• establish a forum for critical dialogue

• provide a voice for artists

• promote local artists
